Northwest Ohio RTK Network

The Northwest Ohio RTK Network is owned and operated by Liechty Farm Equipment, Inc. and Findlay Implement Co. The network was started in early 2007 as a solution to the high cost of farmers owning their own RTK base stations. As the size of farming operations has grown in recent years, the distance from one end of an operation to the other has grown larger and larger. This brings into the picture the need for multiple base stations to cover one farming operation. By creating a network of base station towers to provide RTK signal coverage for everyone, the cost per operation is greatly reduced.

As the input costs of planting a crop continue to rise, practices like strip-till and deep placing fertilizers, as well as controlled traffic operations have become very popular. These practices are some of the best ways to reduce inputs as well as control compaction, which in turn produces higher yields. This is where the advantages of an RTK’s repeatability really shines. Being able to run on the same AB line year after year and operation after operation is key to getting the most return from your input costs.

The foundation of the Northwest Ohio RTK Network is the John Deere RTK system. This system is on the leading edge of RTK technology and is backed by John Deere’s commitment to quality.
